Founded in 1993 Reilly Electrical Contractors, Inc. performs both bid and design/build work for electrical and low voltage markets. As a merit shop organization partnered with Crete United we are able to provide cost effective solutions to our customers. We perform projects of any size for the commercial, industrial, and residential markets. We have locations in Easton, Massachusetts (our headquarters), Cape Cod, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.
Position Summary:
The Estimator is responsible for developing detailed, comprehensive cost estimates for various site construction projects
and representing the Company in all estimating relationships to produce realistic budgets and preliminary schedules.
Salary: $110-150K/yr DOE
$10,000 SIGNING BONUS
- $2,500 after 30 days
- $2,500 after 90 days
- $5,000 after 6 months
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience as an estimator in the electrical industry or equivalent
combination of training and experience
• Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
• Strong data analysis and math skills
• OSHA 10 Certification
• Current and Valid Driver’s License in good standing
This position requires the ability to work full-time Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm, unless otherwise determined and
authorized by the Chief Estimator. Must have reliable transportation to travel to regular site visits and attend client
meetings. Telecommuting is available in the event of extenuating circumstances, such as a pandemic, upon approval
from the Chief Estimator.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
• Critical analysis of bid documents, blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine potential risks and/or
profitability and articulate to management to assist in making sound bidding decisions.
• Prepare, compile, coordinate, and complete accurate and timely electrical construction estimates for competitive
bids and proposals with high level of detail for all design stages and adherence to bid schedule.
• Analyze key themes and trends to ensure all factors including industry and material pricing are properly
considered, priced, and included in estimate.
• Prepare estimates by calculating various statistical data, prepare quantity take-offs, estimate costs of materials,
labor and equipment costs required to fulfill all provisions of the contract.
• Solicit vendors for pricing on equipment and/or materials.
• Ability to work independently and well under pressure to manage multiple estimates concurrently while exercising
good judgement and maintaining client confidentiality.
• Multitask, prioritize, and manage schedule and workload to meet established deadlines.
• Communicate estimate/bid information to project management at pre-construction meetings and throughout the
life of the project to ensure project kept within limits of the estimate and metrics/benchmarks are used to
determine efficiency.
• Maintain and build new relationships with owners, customers, design teams, contractors, subcontractors,
suppliers, and vendors to help understand needs and expectations in addition to identifying new business and
potential bid opportunities.
• Draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
• Attend walkthroughs on job sites and client meetings as required.
• Provide support in maintaining and updating the Accubid database.
• Prepare sales packages and other materials for sales meetings.
• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
• Experience with estimating technology and tools such as Accubid, BIM and related software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and other industry related software along with use of everyday office
equipment.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to read, speak, comprehend, listen, write, and exchange
information in English clearly and effectively.
• Critical thinking and strong problem solving, math and analytical skills.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations and
calculate mathematical extensions. Must have good knowledge of geometric formulas and equations required to
calculate quantities in performing quantity takeoffs and estimating.
• In-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments at once with a high-level attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of the Electrical Code and current building codes.
• Ability to effectively interact, cooperate, collaborate, and manage conflicts with others to complete tasks and
achieve shared goals.
• Ability to read, interpret and analyze blueprints, constructions plans and schematic drawings.
