Overview

An established leader in industrial automation is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization supporting the design and delivery of highly automated material handling and mobile automation systems.

\n

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineering teams while ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering leadership with a background in automated equipment, custom machinery, or industrial automation environments.

\n

This position is ideal for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys developing high-performing teams while driving technical excellence and continuous improvement.

\n

Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Lead, mentor, and develop teams of Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineers.
  • \n

  • Establish engineering priorities, resource planning, and workload balancing across multiple customer projects.
  • \n

  • Oversee engineering execution from concept through manufacturing, commissioning, and customer acceptance.
  • \n

  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality, safety, schedule, and customer requirements.
  • \n

  • Partner with Project Management to successfully execute complex automation projects.
  • \n

  • Improve engineering processes, documentation standards, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • \n

  • Support technical problem-solving while allowing technical experts to own discipline-specific designs.
  • \n

  • Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, and project status updates.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales, and Executive Leadership.
  • \n

  • Assist with budgeting, long-term planning, staffing, and organizational development.
  • \n

Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • \n

  • 8+ years of engineering experience within industrial automation, robotics, machine building, material handling, or automated manufacturing.
  • \n

  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • \n

  • Experience overseeing Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineering organizations.
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of automated equipment and engineering project management.
  • \n

  • Experience supporting customer-driven, custom-engineered solutions.
  • \n

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • \n
