Electrical Engineer in YO1

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing specialist at their site, based in a village on the outskirts of York.\n\nThis is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency through expert fault finding, repair, and proactive maintenance.  \n\nYou will support a fast-paced production environment by diagnosing complex electrical issues and contributing to long-term reliability projects.  \n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n\nResponding to electrical breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime.

 \nDiagnosing and repairing faults in PLC systems, control panels, drives, motors, and sensors.  \nCarrying out scheduled electrical Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks.  \nEnsuring all activities are performed safely by following full LOTO procedures and site safety protocols.

 \nMaintaining accurate maintenance records and supporting condition-based monitoring.  \nActively contributing to automation upgrades and efficiency improvement projects.  \nAssisting with the installation and commissioning of new plant equipment.

 \n\nWhat You Need\n\nA time-served Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications.\nSolid experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.  \nStrong technical competence in fault finding on PLCs, inverters, and control systems.  \nThe ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics.
