We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer – Machine Design to design and develop reliable, compliant machines for automated processes, high-speed pick-and-place applications, and robotics applications that meet applicable standards and customer requirements. The successful candidate will enhance and support electrical systems used in automated manufacturing cells, screen-printing, and digital printing equipment while collaborating closely with engineering, production, service, and parts teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve electrical systems for screen-printing and digital printing equipment.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, control system programs, and technical documentation.
- Develop PLC, HMI, motion control, and drive solutions for industrial machinery.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IEC and UL standards and incorporate safety-focused design principles into machine designs.
- Support Production, Service, and Parts departments with troubleshooting, documentation, and technical guidance.
- Investigate equipment issues at customer sites, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Communicate effectively with customers and vendors regarding technical requirements, issues, and solutions.
- Maintain and manage engineering documentation, including schematics, programs, and technical files.
- Participate in product improvement initiatives and engineering change processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of four years of experience designing electrical systems for industrial machinery.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of AI applications in manufacturing or industrial systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motion control systems, and industrial networking.
- Proficiency in robotics and industrial automation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using AutoCAD for electrical schematics and system layouts.
- Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and engineering change management processes.
- Understanding of IEC and UL compliance requirements for industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of machinery safety standards and safe electrical design practices.
Skills
- Bilingual in English as well as Mandarin and/or Cantonese
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with Mitsubishi automation hardware and software is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites for technical support and issue resolution (domestic and international).
Working Environment
- Office and manufacturing settings.
- Occasional travel to customer locations and vendor facilities may be required (domestic and international).
