Job Description — Electrical Engineer\n\n Location: Manchester office\n Level: Engineer to Senior / Principal Engineer (flexible depending on experience)\n Role: Full-time, hybrid working supported\n\n About the Opportunity\n\n We are recruiting a dynamic and intellectually curious Electrical Engineer to join a nationally recognised building services consultancy with a strong focus on sustainable design and technical excellence. You will work across a diverse range of built environment projects including healthcare, education, commercial and residential sectors, supporting design teams from concept through to delivery.\n\n The role can be tailored to suit candidates from mid-level engineer through to principal or associate level with expanded responsibilities including technical leadership, client engagement and team mentoring.\n\n What You Will Do\n\nLead and contribute to electrical building services design on multi-discipline projects from feasibility and concept design to detailed design, construction support and commissioning\nPrepare and develop compliant solutions for HV and LV distribution, power, lighting including emergency lighting, earthing and bonding, containment, small power, ICT infrastructure, fire alarm, security and access control systems\nApply sustainable design principles, energy-efficient design strategies and deliver best-value engineering outcomes in line with current standards\nCoordinate electrical design with other engineering disciplines, architects and lead consultants to ensure integrated design delivery\nAttend design team meetings, client workshops and site visits managing aspects of communication and technical representation\nUtilise relevant tools and software such as AutoCAD, Revit and analysis packages to produce high-quality deliverables\nFor senior candidates provide technical leadership, oversee work of junior engineers, contribute to business development and support quality assurance processes\nAbout You\n\n Core Requirements for all levels\n\nEngineering degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering\nProven technical experience in electrical building services design across a variety of project types\nStrong understanding of UK regulations, standards and design guidance including BS/EN standards and CIBSE guidance\nExcellent communication skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams\nProficiency in design software with AutoCAD essential and Revit advantageous\nA proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to manage workload effectively\nSenior or Principal Level\n\nChartered or working towards chartership such as IET or CIBSE/IET\nTrack record of technical leadership and project delivery on complex schemes\nExperience mentoring and developing junior engineers\nClient relationship skills and proven ability supporting proposal work and winning commissions\nWhat We Offer\n\nA supportive and inclusive consultancy environment with flexibility around role seniority\nOpportunities to work on technically interesting and impactful projects across multiple sectors\nCareer development support including professional training, chartership encouragement and exposure to senior leadership\nAttractive salary package commensurate with experience and level\nHybrid working and modern benefits that prioritise wellbeing and work-life balance
