Electrical Engineer III
Position Title: Electrical Engineer III
Reports To: Director of Electrical Engineering
Overview:
The Electrical Engineer III is responsible for designing electrical systems across various markets, including mission-critical, telecommunications, commercial, and government sectors. This role involves system design, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, field verification, and mentorship of junior engineers and designers. The position requires expertise in industry-standard software, compliance with codes and regulations, and active participation in project development, from conception to construction administration.
Key Responsibilities:

Design electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm, and communications.

Perform site surveys and field verification of existing systems.

Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for design production and ensure compliance with company standards.

Collaborate with internal teams, including production, architectural, and engineering disciplines.

Coordinate with vendors for selecting equipment and fixtures.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to designers and junior engineers.

Assist in developing project specifications, schematic design narratives, and technical reports.

Perform electrical calculations (load analysis, voltage drop, short circuit studies, etc.).

Conduct arc flash studies and develop reports using Easy Power or SKM Powertools.

Review project documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.

Support construction administration, including reviewing RFIs, submittals, and site visits.

Coordinate building service requirements with power companies.

Identify and address design roadblocks, communicating effectively with project managers and leadership.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

Minimum 7 years of experience in an MEP engineering firm or related field.

Professional registration with NCEES .

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Easy Power, and SKM Powertools.

Strong understanding of industry-standard and local building codes.

Knowledge of sustainability rating systems such as LEED and WELL.

Ability to work independently throughout the design process.
