Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer II – Electrical role provides technical expertise in equipment design, installation, troubleshooting, and improvement within an industrial production environment. This position supports both day‐to‐day operations and project‐based initiatives, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and performance while contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

 

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide input into the purchase, modification, and enhancement of a wide range of industrial equipment.

• Represent the electrical discipline on cross‐functional project teams, including generating purchase orders or non‐stock requests and managing cost, schedule, and performance for assigned project elements.

• Perform engineering and design work related to equipment installation, upgrades, and retrofits.

• Deliver daily troubleshooting support for equipment and facility electrical systems in collaboration with Maintenance teams.

• Direct outside consultants, contractors, and material suppliers as needed for project execution.

• Complete all assigned duties and participate in special projects as required.

 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.

• Three or more years of relevant electrical engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

• Experience troubleshooting facility power systems, industrial controls wiring, and industrial networks.

• Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, networking, and Level II control systems.

• Familiarity with MCCs, low‐voltage distribution, drive systems, and core industrial control technologies.

• Understanding of applicable electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE).

• Proficiency with CAD software (3D ), MS Office, and engineering design tools.

• Experience supporting and guiding electrical technicians, along with basic project management capabilities.

• Ability to work independently on larger assignments requiring sound engineering judgment.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to organize, prioritize, and make effective decisions.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast‐paced, production‐oriented environment.

• Strong problem‐solving and equipment design skills.
