Electrical Engineer II

Someone in this role would typically have a completed Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering with a B average or better who is a recent graduate up to roughly 5 years of corporate experience.

Required 

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.  Recent graduate with no corporate experience up to and including 5 years of corporate experience.
  • Hands-on experience in the design, analysis, production, and testing of digital and analog circuits. 
  • Knowledge of electrical design software tools:  Altium and SVN version control for design collaboration, SPICE, and Lab-view.     
  • Knowledge and experience with laboratory test equipment including logic, spectrum, and power analyzers, Oscilloscopes, signal generators, and emulators for processors/microcontrollers. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.   

 

Desired 

  • Familiarity with the space radiation environment, electromagnetic environment, physical launch environments, and thermal heat dissipation at ambient and vacuum conditions.
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility analysis and testing and aerospace/ government requirements and guidelines.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

 

Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Electrical Engineering Group Manager.  Monitoring and technical supervision will often come from more senior design engineers.

Some of your major responsibilities will include:

  • Design, analysis, and production of electrical equipment and printed circuit boards 

  • Testing, certification, and delivery of space-flight electrical elements. 

  • Example disciplines: circuit board layout, microprocessor and/or FPGA programming, sensor interfaces and integration, various data communication protocols, BLDC and Stepper motor control, and power system electronics
