We are seeking an Electrical Engineer / Fabrication to become an integral part of our team! You will assist in the research, design and development of electrical components and systems. 

You will help to be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the manufacturing of electrical components and systems, as well as maintaining and optimizing electrical equipment on the production line. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring products from the design phase to mass production, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. 

Job summary

The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, tests, and supervises the manufacturing and installation of electrical systems for our fabricated products. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, control systems, and automation to enhance the efficiency, output, and quality of manufacturing processes. The Electrical Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining safety and compliance with all industry and company standards. 

Core responsibilities

  • Develop and install electrical components and systems 
  • Assess and modify existing power distribution systems
  • Troubleshoot relay and data system designs
  • Research and document relay test results
  • Track project time lines to complete tasks on schedule 
  • Ensure reliable operation of equipment
  • Design and development:
    • Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings for electrical components.
    • Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems and equipment for manufactured products.
    • Select and specify power distribution components, sensors, and other electrical hardware to meet project requirements and standards.
  • Fabrication support:
    • Collaborate with fabrication technicians and production staff to interpret blueprints and provide technical guidance
    • Troubleshoot electrical issues on the manufacturing line and provide solutions to resolve production problems.
  • Testing and quality control:
    • Develop and implement electrical testing procedures to ensure products conform to design specifications and safety standards.
    • Conduct rigorous testing on finished products and systems to verify capabilities and reliability.
    • Participate in the quality assurance process, analyzing data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintenance and improvement:
    • Upgrade and optimize existing manufacturing equipment and electrical systems to improve performance and quality.
    • Supervise the installation of new electrical systems and equipment, ensuring proper build and function.
    • Maintain and organize engineering documentation, including product reports, test data, and equipment records.
  • Collaboration and safety:
    • Work closely with other engineers (e.g., mechanical, software), project managers, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
    • Assist in developing and enforcing safety policies related to electrical systems and equipment.
    • Conduct safety inspections and provide training to staff as needed. 

Qualifications and skills

  • Experience: Proven experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.​​​​​​
  • Technical skills:
    • Proficiency with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
    • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, automation, and PLCs.
    • Expertise in industrial power distribution systems and control circuits.
    • Familiarity with test equipment, measuring devices, and relevant software.
  • Soft skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various teams and clients.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
