Role: Electrical Engineer\n\nLocation: Epsom, London, Peterborough, Cambridge (3 days/week onsite)\n\nDuration: 6 months\n\nInside IR35\n\nWe are looking for an energetic and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Client. You'll be part of a talented, multi-disciplinary team delivering cutting edge, iconic projects to our Water market clients.\n\nAs a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in delivering transformational programmes for critical UK infrastructure, with opportunities to work on landmark engineering projects both domestically and internationally. We're committed to providing industry-leading solutions throughout the project lifecycle, adding value through client-side and construction-phase support.
\n\nWe offer hybrid working which involves 3 days per week being office/site based.\n\nYour Role\n\nThe role will offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity to apply knowledge, experience, and problem-solving skills whilst providing good opportunities for career development. \n\nAs an Electrical Engineer in the D&AT practice, the successful candidate would have the following responsibilities: \n\nCoordinate or manage a team of Electrical & ICA engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects following relevant client and project specific design codes and standards, and to high-quality levels. \nResponsible for leading and producing technical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specifications, Control Philosophies, Control Network Architecture.
\nProvide technical input into project design deliverables for Electrical aspects of complex multi-disciplinary projects and work with the project management team to successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes. \nCollaborate with client, operational, project, or service activities within your immediate team.\nProvide mentorship to less experienced colleagues and help to grow the Electrical & ICA capabilities within the local team and the wider Electrical & ICA technical network. \nWork independently with minimal technical guidance.
Exercise personal judgement to solve difficult problems where appropriate and provide guidance to junior team members. \nProvide technical support for bid proposals. \nWork closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
\nAdhere to quality assurance standards in design including check and review of own work as well as others. About You\n\nThe ideal candidate would be a well-rounded and versatile individual who exemplifies the following key skills and attributes: \n\nA degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. \nPreferably a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.
\nProven experience in coordinating or managing an Electrical engineering design delivery team for a design consultancy including within a multi-disciplinary environment. \nTakes broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to design problems. \nRequires strong knowledge and practical experience in Electrical designs.
\nPractical knowledge of water company design codes and standards as well as industry best practices, such as WIMES. \nGood awareness of HAZOP assessments, lightning strike risk assessments, earthing and bonding, lighting designs, DSEAR and ATEX installation practices. \nProficiency in designing within appropriate digital analysis packages, following local and guidance.
E.g. electrical design software such as Trimble/Amtech \nAbility to work independently with minimal technical guidance. \nExperience in water market is but not required.
\nExperience in industrial and process environment is essential. \nDemonstrates strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively within diverse multi-disciplinary teams. \nA proactive, highly motivated mindset with a collaborative approach to drive teamwork and shared success across projects.
