Day Electrical Engineer\n\nLondon\n\n£50,000 + Benefits\n\nMonday - Friday, 40 hours a week\n\nBrief\n\nElectrical Engineer is needed by a large sustainable energy organisation based in London who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded individual that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical and fuel handling.\n\nThe successful candidate would need a NVQ L3 or equivalent in an electrical field or equivalent. An individual with experience working in a sustainable energy setting would be a plus!\n\nBenefits\n\n25 days annual leave (+ public holidays) \nWellbeing day\nLife Cover\nPension contributions\nCycle to work scheme \nBroad range of learning opportunities, such as professional qualifications, collective/individual training, and personalized support programmes \nAttractive Employee Referral Rewards Scheme \n\nWhat the role entails:\n\nCarry out the scheduled preventive maintenance programme for all electrical plants and systems.\nRespond to and resolve electrical faults, alarms, and breakdowns.\nConduct minor installations and upgrades in line with system design and standards.\nProactively monitor electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.\nMaintain clear and thorough maintenance records and close out all work orders promptly.\nSupport operational performance through reliable electrical systems and timely fault rectification.\nPerform regular inspections and testing of electrical installations and equipment.\nEnsure compliance with relevant IEE wiring regulations and statutory requirements.\nProvide support to multi-disciplinary teams during system upgrades and modifications.\nProvide cover for shift roster gaps and participate in on-call rotation (where required).\nCollaborate effectively with the site team, demonstrating professionalism in all client interactions.\nBe willing to assist at other sites when requested.\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of operational procedures and contract specifics.\nWork in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations and Bring energy safety policies.\nApply lock-out/tag-out procedures and Permit to Work systems.\nEnsure personal and always team compliance with Health & Safety practices.\nContribute to and produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).\nComplete maintenance logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation accurately.\nUse IT systems to support diagnostics, reporting, and communication.\nEscalate faults or safety concerns appropriately and in a timely manner.\nMaintain clear communication with team members and site leadership. \n\nWhat experience you need to be the successful Electrical Engineer:\n\nNVQ Level 3 in an Electrical or Mechanical Field.\n18th Edition\nExperience with fault finding inspection and testing.\nCompetence in safe isolation procedures and working on live/energised systems where permitted.\nUnderstanding of cable types, containment systems, and termination techniques.\nAbility to interpret and work from electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.\nProficient in testing procedures including insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, and loop impedance.\nKnowledge of three-phase systems, motor starters, control circuits, and emergency shutdown systems.\nApplication of Health and Safety practices in high-risk industrial environments.\nUse of test equipment (e.g., multifunction testers, clamp meters, insulation testers).\nStrong attention to detail and safety awareness.\nEffective communication and team collaboration.\nProactive, self-motivated, and able to manage workload independently.
