Electrical Engineer – Next Nuclear Power Plant

Location: Camden, NJ

Position Overview:

The Electrical Engineer will contribute to the design and analysis of electrical systems that support the development of advanced nuclear power plant technologies. This role involves collaboration with a cross-functional team of engineers and designers focused on safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.


Areas of Responsibility:

  • Support activities related to electrical system design and analysis.
  • Develop requirements and design specifications.
  • Perform system analyses and licensing conformance evaluations.
  • Read, interpret, and develop electrical diagrams and schematics.
  • Perform electrical calculations and prepare design deliverables.
  • Support vendor selection, vetting, and technical evaluation.
  • Develop cable routing and perform associated analyses.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integration.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • 2–5 years of electrical engineering experience, or equivalent.
  • Solid working knowledge of electrical design methods, tools, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documents and design deliverables with minimal editing.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in team settings.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment on routine engineering problems under supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements and environments.
  • Works effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of hands-on electrical design or support experience in power environments.
  • Experience contributing to electrical system design, including:
    • On-site distribution (AC and DC)
    • Off-site interfaces (switchyard)
    • Grounding and lightning protection systems
    • Plant lighting and communication systems
    • Battery systems and diesel generators
  • Growing familiarity with nuclear regulatory guidance, such as NUREG-0800 Chapter 8.
  • Experience applying IEEE, IEC, and EPRI codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electrical system design and analysis.
