About the Role

Our MEP consulting firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for the design, coordination, and documentation of electrical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, residential, and/or industrial projects. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced consulting environment and contributing to high-quality building designs.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
  • Prepare construction documents, drawings, and specifications in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, voltage drop calculations, and lighting layouts
  • Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural disciplines
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs during construction
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, architects, and contractors
  • Support project schedules, budgets, and quality control standards
  • Assist with site visits, field surveys, and construction administration as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5 years of experience in MEP consulting or building systems design
  • Experience designing electrical systems for commercial and/or institutional buildings
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, energy codes, and industry standards
  • EIT or PE license (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

Experience

  • Revit-based electrical design workflows
  • Experience with sustainable or energy-efficient design (LEED, energy modeling, etc.)
  • Client-facing experience in a consulting environment
