Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrical Engineer role based in Bloomfield, NJ. The Electrical Engineer will design and develop electrical systems and controls for high-temperature furnaces, including power distribution, control panels, and safety interlocks. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing electrical schematics, performing calculations and component selection, and supporting prototype builds and testing. The role involves troubleshooting electrical issues on existing and new furnace designs, collaborating with mechanical engineers, production, and service teams, and assisting in the creation of documentation, manuals, and bills of materials. The Electrical Engineer will also support continuous improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, and occasionally assist with customer technical inquiries and field issues.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core electrical engineering principles, including Electricity and Electrical Engineering, with the ability to apply theory to practical furnace applications.
- Proficiency in Electrical Design, including schematics, wiring diagrams, component selection, and control panel layout.
- Experience with Power Distribution and Power Systems relevant to industrial or high-temperature equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with industrial controls, PLCs, sensors, and safety circuits is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL, CE ).
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills, including the use of electrical test equipment in a manufacturing or lab environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an on-site setting.
- Experience with thermal processing equipment, furnaces, or other industrial machinery is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and safety.
