NSC Skilled Trades is seeking an Electrical Engineer III for a permanent role in Tucson, AZ.


JOB DETAILS:
PAY: $95k - $110k/year
START: ASAP
DURATION: Permanent
HOURS: 40 hrs/week
TIME: 1st Shift, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
LOCATION: Tucson, AZ

SCOPE:

  • Support manufacturing and fielded electronic products for industrial and medical applications
  • Troubleshoot electrical and RF-enabled systems, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Maintain and update schematics, PCB layouts, and component libraries
  • Address component obsolescence and update documentation
  • Develop or update test fixtures and work instructions
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and quality teams
  • Lead or support engineering change requests (ECRs) and product documentation updates
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in audits, reviews, and CAPA activities
  • Recommend improvements for reliability, cost, manufacturability, and compliance


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5–7 years experience in electronics design, sustaining engineering, or manufacturing support
  • Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium, OrCAD)
  • Electrical troubleshooting at component and system levels
  • RF design or RF-enabled system experience, plus measurement instruments (Spectrum Analyzer, VNA)
  • Familiarity with embedded system hardware; software/firmware experience is a plus
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated and organized


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing for high-reliability or safety-critical products
  • Knowledge of IEC, FCC, ISO, UL, EMC/EMI standards
  • Understanding of DFM, DFT, and lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with configuration/change management tools and structured workflows
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys)


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods and work at a computer or lab bench
  • Manual dexterity for small components and tools
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Normal vision and visual acuity required


TRAVEL:

  • Occasional up to 10% for supplier visits, field investigations, or training
