The Job Mission
This is a hybrid role based in Bridgwater, and we welcome applicants living within commutable distance. For those relocating, a relocation allowance is available to support your move.
As part of our Electrical Engineering team, you’ll play a key role in supporting the construction of new nuclear units at Hinkley Point C. You’ll work closely with site contractors, assess technical queries, and help ensure the integrity of electrical design throughout construction.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing clear, timely responses to contractor queries on electrical scope
* Gathering input data and producing technical assessments to support site works
* Performing calculations such as support, plate and cable sizing where required
* Identifying and managing design impacts from site activities, including changes and redlines
* Contributing to the closure of open design points and supporting documentation updates
* Raising alerts on technical risks and supporting resolution before they affect progress
* Sharing lessons learned and technical insights across the electrical discipline team
* Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to manage cross-functional impacts
* Reporting to the Electrical Discipline Manager and actively participating in team meetings
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
* Proven experience supporting construction or site-based engineering activities
* Strong knowledge of electrical calculations and design principles
* Ability to identify design impacts and manage changes effectively
* Familiarity with reviewing and updating design documentation
* Confident communicator with multidisciplinary project teams
✔️ Desired Skills and Qualifications
* Background in large, highly regulated projects such as energy, defence or infrastructure
* Experience with cable calculations or electrical load studies
* Proficiency in digital engineering tools or 3D model review software
