Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering a must; ABET accredited
- May require security clearance eligibility.
- Veterans Affairs, Dept. of Defense, &/or other Federal experience desired.
- LEED &/or US Green Building Council Certification is desirable
- Be self-motivated, able to perform and solve problems independently, and take the initiative to make sound decisions with minimal oversight.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in computer design software programs including: AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, Construction Estimating systems, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, et.) MS Project & Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and other various design and project scheduling software.
Major Duties:
- Prepare and assist with engineering designs, studies and reports for various facilities (including hospitals)
- Prepare building electrical plans and schematics on AutoCAD / Revit.
- Prepare technical calculations, specifications, material estimates, technical reports, and portions of design memoranda.
- Prepares construction plans on AutoCAD and prepares layouts for development of drawings by technicians and reviews completed work for technical adequacy and completeness.
- Prepares technical specifications, material estimates, correspondence, technical reports, and portions of design memoranda.
- Makes site visits to identify and eliminate conflicts with conservation criteria
- Provide solutions to electrical construction issues.
- Coordinate in multi-disciplinary design team meetings
