ATCO STRUCTURES AND LOGISTICS (USA) INC. (“ASL-USA”) is seeking an Electrical Designer for our Office in Spring.

The Electrical Designer supports the development of electrical system designs for modular building projects, including space rentals and workforce housing product lines. This role prepares electrical drawings, load calculations, equipment layouts, and documentation ensuring compliance with electrical codes, modular regulations, and project requirements. The Electrical Designer collaborates with MEP, architectural, structural, estimating, and manufacturing teams to deliver accurate, constructible, and cost‑effective electrical design solutions.

  • Prepare electrical design documents including power layouts, lighting layouts, panel schedules, single‑line diagrams, grounding plans, and electrical notes required for project submittals and pricing packages.
  • Develop electrical system designs in accordance with the Electrical Code (NEC), International Building Code (IBC), energy codes, and state modular construction requirements
  • Coordinate electrical layouts with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural disciplines to ensure accurate system integration and manufacturability.
  • Assist the Lead MEP Designer in preparing documentation needed for state modular electrical approvals, and support responses to review comments.
  • Update and revise existing electrical design packages to align with project changes while maintaining code compliance.
  • Apply company electrical design standards, templates, and document control processes consistently across deliverables.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design meetings to clarify electrical design intent and address coordination items
  • Identify potential electrical design issues, conflicts, or code concerns and work with senior and lead designers to resolve them
  • Support estimating activities by providing electrical equipment selections, material quantities, and design‑related technical input
  • Work closely with the Lead MEP Designer to ensure electrical designs align with overall MEP objectives and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure electrical designs are feasible for modular construction and production workflows.
  • Contribute to improvements in electrical design standards, drafting workflows, and system templates.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of Experience in electrical design for modular, residential, commercial, or industrial building projects
  • Working knowledge of NEC, IBC, and modular construction standards
  • Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with project support tools
  • Strong communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Design, MEP Technology, or a related field.
