Electrical Designer
Primary Responsibilities
• Provide design or analysis for lighting, power and control systems for new construction and/or renovation of industrial ( wastewater ) or commercial structures in conformance to client requirements and applicable codes.
• Provide engineering to develop construction documents for the installation, interconnection and control of electrical and mechanical components.
• Review and/or establish project scope, electrical design budget, design approach, and applicable constraints with the Project Manager or client as appropriate.
• Working knowledge of NEC, as it applies to the electrical design.
• Prepare feasibility studies and schematic design packages of lighting, power systems, arc flash, etc.
• Communicate and work with all other disciplines to produce coordinated construction documents.
• With assistance, edit and draft project specifications.
• Review project submittals (shop drawings) for conformance with contract documents; specify action required for conformance.
Required Education and Experience
• 6+ years related and progressively more responsible experience in electrical engineering field.
• Bachelor or Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• LEED accredited professional preferred
• EIT preferred
Additional Skills
• Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel and MS Word), Autodesk (Revit and AutoCAD) and/or Bentley Microstation.
• Engineering software for lighting design, experience with short-circuit analysis and coordination (e.g. SKM or ETAP) preferred.
Projects are all water/wastewater plants. You will not need experience in water/wastewater but need a sound understanding of power distribution/arc flash study/etc.
This person will need to know how to work in Revit and design a project.
Some field work may be required but not a regular basis/week to week kind of thing.
