Role: Electrical Design Engineer\n\nDuration: Circa 6 months\n\nLocation: Normanton, West Yorkshire\n\nHours: Monday – Thursday 08:30 – 17:00 | Friday 08:30 – 16:00\n\nRate: Circa £40 8Neg on experience)\n\nGPS Recruitment are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team specialising in the design and manufacture of low-voltage electrical control panels for Building Management System (BMS) applications. The role will be initially for around 6 months\n\nYou will be responsible for the design, development and documentation of electrical control panel solutions, supporting projects from initial concept through to manufacture and commissioning.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n• Design low-voltage electrical control panels for BMS and building automation applications.\n• Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts using CAD software.\n• Generate bills of materials (BOMs), technical documentation and manufacturing packs.\n• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and customer specifications.\n• Work closely with production and project teams to support build and testing activities.\n• Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding technical requirements where required.\n• Review and improve existing designs to enhance quality, efficiency and manufacturability.\n• Support troubleshooting and technical queries during project delivery.\n• Assist with project planning and ensure design milestones are achieved.\n\nCandidate Requirements\n• Proven experience in electrical design of control panels.\n• Strong CAD experience producing electrical schematics and panel layouts.\n• Good understanding of low-voltage electrical systems.\n• Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements.\n• Experience creating technical documentation and bills of materials.\n• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
