The Electrical System Design Engineer / PLC Programmer will be responsible for designing and programming PLC-based control systems from scratch, managing projects from start to finish. The role requires direct combustion and burner experience and involves designing, programming, and implementing control systems for Epcon’s industrial heating applications.
This position also includes developing user interfaces and integrating control systems with existing manufacturing processes, with a focus on creating efficient, reliable, and innovative solutions tailored to customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, program, and implement PLC-based control systems for industrial heating applications.
- Develop user interfaces and integrate systems with existing manufacturing processes.
- Conduct testing and validation of automated systems to ensure functionality and efficiency.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during system commissioning and start-up phases.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to innovate control strategies and enhance system performance.
- Document all phases of the control system design and programming.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
- Proven experience (3 to 5 years) in PLC programming and design, from start to finish.
- Industrial heating (Burner Combustion experience) or similar applications is a must for this role.
- Strong proficiency with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or other major PLC platforms.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
