Electrical Design Engineer (Contract – Long Term)\nLocation: Manchester (Hybrid / Site Travel Required)\nRate: £35–£40 per hour\nContract: Long-term\n\nThe Role\n\nWe are currently recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering team delivering large-scale, mission critical projects. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering stability and the chance to work on high-profile developments.\n\nYou will be involved across the full project lifecycle, supporting both design and construction phases in a fast-paced environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Design of electrical systems for large mission critical projects, including LV Distribution, UPS systems and generator systems\n\n * Production of electrical schematics and layout drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit\n\n * Carry out electrical design calculations using Amtech (or similar)\n\n * Support lighting design using Dialux (desirable)\n\n * Prepare technical specifications and engineering reports\n\n * Attend design meetings and coordinate with internal and external teams\n\n * Support construction activities including site inspections and commissioning\n\n * Liaise with subcontractors and procurement teams\n\n * Review technical aspects of purchase orders\n\n * Provide technical support throughout installation and project delivery\n\nRequirements\n\n * HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering\n\n * Experience in electrical design within building services (experience on mission critical projects advantageous but not essential)\n\n * Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit \n\n * Amtech experience beneficial\n\n * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)\n\n * Strong communication and organisational skills\n\n * Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines\n\n * Based within commutable distance of Manchester with full UK working rights\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Competitive hourly rate of £35–£40 per hour, depending on experience\n\n * Long-term contract with a strong pipeline of secured work\n\n * Opportunity to work on major, technically challenging projects\n\n * Collaborative and professional team environment\n\n * Immediate or short notice start available
