Electrical Design Engineer (Contract - Outside IR35)\n\nLocation: London (Southeast)\n\nContract Type: Contract\n\nIR35 Status: Outside IR35\n\nDuration: 6 Months\n\nStart Date: ASAP (05/02/2026)\n\nHours: 40 hours per week\n\nRole Overview\n\nAn experienced Electrical Design Engineer is required to support a portfolio of TfL infrastructure projects, primarily focused on ticket hall lighting and smaller electrical works across stations and depots.\n\nThis is a contract role suited to a hands-on designer with strong experience in building services electrical design within live transport environments.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nElectrical design delivery for TfL station and depot projects\nTicket hall and general station lighting design\nSmall-to-medium electrical packages within operational environments\nCoordination with internal design teams and stakeholders\nProduction of electrical design documentation and drawings\nInvolvement with CMS/control management systems (desirable) \n\nKey Requirements\n\nProven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within building services\nPrevious TfL / rail/transport infrastructure experience is highly desirable\nStrong lighting design background\nFamiliarity with CMS/control management systems is advantageous\nComfortable working on multiple small electrical projects simultaneously\nAble to work predominantly office-based initiallyWorking Arrangement\n\n5 days per week, office-based in Woolwich initially\nFlexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week once trust is established
