Job Description
ELECTRICAL BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEER\n\n Qualifications and Experience\n\nBritish or otherwise have the right to work in the UK\nDegree qualified in Electrical Engineering\nExperience: minimum 2 years' experience up to senior level working as an Electrical (Building Services) Design Engineer (preferably in the UK)\nStrong design skills\nPreferential but not essential experience in:\nWiring regulations (BS 7671)\nRelevant British Standards\nEducation, leisure, residential and mixed-use sectors\nBREEAM and its implications for M&E design\nRevit MEP\n Job Description \n The engineer will work on projects predominantly in the South-East, from concept/feasibility stage through design, construction, commissioning, and handover, under the guidance of a director. \n Skills to be developed include (but are not limited to):\n\nLighting and cable calculations\nPart L compliance checking\nDevelopment of detailed designs including equipment selection and specification\nDesign and specification of renewable technologies\nLiaison with utility companies for new and diversion of existing services\nCoordination with architects, clients, structural engineers, and contractors\nProject management\nSite inspections\n Package\n\nSalary negotiable based on experience\nPrivate medical cover for the individual and immediate family\nCompany pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer)\nBusiness travel costs covered\n25 days annual leave (increasing to 30 days after 5 years' service)\nHybrid working - up to 2 days WFH per week (to be agreed with line manager)\nWorking hours: 08:30 to 17:00 with 1-hour lunch break\nMobile phone allowance\n About Our Client \n\n Our client is a well-established building services consultancy founded in the early 1980s. They have built a strong reputation across the leisure, education, commercial, retail, and residential sectors.
\n\n Despite being a relatively small company (around 20 employees), they deliver high-value projects ranging from £4 million to £200 million and have received both and international awards. \n\n Our client is recognised for expertise in low-carbon and renewable technologies and energy-efficient building design. They have contributed technical guidance for organisations and have long-standing partnerships with local authorities and major contractors.
