Electrical Design Engineer – Control Systems & Automation
Yateley, Hampshire | £50,000–£60,000 + Excellent Benefits | Permanent, Full-time
Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a passion for automation and control systems? This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering business, working on a wide range of cutting-edge projects across multiple industries.
The role
You’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of electrical design and control system delivery — from concept through to commissioning. Working as part of a collaborative team, you’ll design and develop electrical systems, produce detailed documentation and oversee the selection and scheduling of equipment.
Key responsibilities

Design control system solutions including PLCs, SCADA/HMI and telemetry systems

Produce electrical drawings, network layouts and documentation

Prepare Functional and System Design Specifications (FDS/SDS)

Specify and procure electrical equipment and instrumentation

Carry out site surveys and work closely with clients to ensure smooth delivery

What you’ll need

Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering

Proficiency in EPlan, AutoCAD or similar electrical design software

Strong knowledge of automation and control systems

Experience in control panel design and manufacture

Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK
