Electrical Design Engineer / Control & Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Reading (2-3 days on-site per week)
Contract Length: 12 months
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £65 an Hour - Inside IR35
Join a high-impact project where safety, precision and technical excellence drive infrastructure. We're seeking a Design-focused Electrical / C&I Engineer to support our client in Reading on a long-term contract. Working within the Facility Design Authority, you will provide robust electrical and control & instrumentation designs to ensure compliance with legislation, performance criteria, and facility lifecycle requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
Produce high-quality electrical and C&I designs across all project phases, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards alongside collaborating across disciplines to ensure design integrity is upheld through the full project lifecycle.
Interpret and apply legislation, technical standards, and industry best practice to engineering outputs.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and environmental assurance, raising any concerns through the appropriate channels.
Support continual improvement in engineering practice, ensuring designs are clear, compliant, and efficient.
What We're Looking For:
ONC/OND (minimum) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (HNC/HND ).
Solid background producing electrical or control & instrumentation designs within highly regulated industries.
Proficiency with engineering tools, drawing packages and office software and experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary design team.
Great knowledge of engineering standards, particularly those relating to safety, design compliance, and lifecycle assurance.
