Electrical Designer Engineer (Contract)
Location: Onsite – New Jersey (5 days/week)
Contract Type: W2 Contract
Duration: 6 months
Pay Rate: $70/hour
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer Engineer to support electrical design activities for industrial projects. This role is heavily focused on hands-on electrical design and documentation across low voltage, instrumentation, and medium-voltage systems. Experience in a chemical manufacturing or similar industrial environment is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical designs including wiring diagrams, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- Perform electrical design work across a wide range of voltages, from 24 V instrumentation and low voltage systems up to 480 V and medium voltage systems (~13.8 kV).
- Design and review instrumentation wiring, control wiring, and interconnections.
- Prepare and interpret analyzer and tubing schematics, including analytical panel drawings (strong plus).
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including process, instrumentation, and operations.
- Support redlines, updates, and revisions to existing electrical drawings and documentation.
- Provide technical support during design reviews and field implementation as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Electrical Designer or Electrical Design Engineer in an industrial environment.
- Strong proficiency in electrical design deliverables (wiring diagrams, schematics, single-line diagrams).
- Hands-on experience with low voltage, instrumentation (24 V), and power systems up to medium voltage (~13.8 kV).
- Ability to work onsite full-time (5 days/week) in New Jersey.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, or similar process-industry environment.
- Familiarity with analyzer systems, analytical panels, and tubing schematics.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as NEC, IEEE, and ISA
