Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Norwich



We're looking for a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team, where you'll be responsible for developing electrical design solutions across the full life cycle of our systems range. This hands-on role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of projects, including power distribution, control panel design, wiring schematics, and system integration.



You'll play a key role in turning system requirements into robust, cost-effective, and high-quality engineering solutions. From initial concept through to prototype testing, installation, and commissioning, this role offers excellent scope for technical problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation.



Key Responsibilities



Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, control panels, and instrumentation.

Create new and maintain legacy electrical designs.

Evaluate system requirements and identify appropriate technical solutions.

Generate test plans, interface documentation, and supplier specifications.

Support prototype testing and provide hands-on troubleshooting using electrical test equipment.

Prepare clear and accurate technical reports, documentation, and presentations.

Ensure all designs meet schedule, budget, and quality standards.

Provide technical advice during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and project management.

Undertake additional duties aligned with the scope of the role.About You



Qualifications / Education / Training



HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent demonstrable experience).Technical Skills / Experience



Knowledge and experience in industrial wiring and system interconnection.

Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and specifications.

Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment for fault finding and prototype testing.

Strong technical report writing and documentation skills.

Confident presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience in electrical design calculations and analysis. Personal Attributes
