Electrical Design Engineer

We have an opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to be based at our offices in Peterborough and throughout sites around the UK. The work will entail design of panel and field installations from concept to on-site commissioning relating to automated control systems.
Key Responsibilities
Generate panel layouts and bills of materials.
LV distribution and cable calculations.
Generating electrical control schematic diagrams.
Generating instrument loop diagrams/cable block diagrams.
Generating PLC wiring diagrams and I/O schedules.
Machinery safety circuit design and risk assessments to BS EN ISO 13849/60261.
Preparation of supporting technical & installation documents.
Liaise with site teams to meet project deadlines.
Lead project commissioning & safety validation.
Skills and Experience
Knowledge / experience of machine safety and safety circuits. It would be an advantage to understand component SIL and machine PL ratings, however, training can be provided if required.
Knowledge of PLC control wiring systems, instrumentation, and motor starter control types.
Experience of AutoCAD, Amtech or equivalent software.
Understanding of relevant standards to industrial automation & controls design.
Be confident in fault finding in large control panels and machinery.
Specific Qualifications
Hold Electrical qualifications HNC, BTEC and/or NVQ3.
18th Edition.
A work history of electrical design preferably within an industrial environment or food and beverage manufacturing.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an engineer.
