Job Title: M&E Shift Technician

Sector: Critical Environments

Location: London-based Data Centre


About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled M&E Shift Technician to join a 24/7 critical environment team. You will maintain mechanical and electrical systems, including UPS, generators, HVAC, and building management systems, ensuring environmental conditions are controlled and service levels are met. The role includes planned maintenance, reactive fault resolution, and supporting continuous operational improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on critical systems.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain UPS, generators, HVAC, chillers, and building management systems.
  • Follow safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements at all times.
  • Supervise and coordinate sub-contractors as needed.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs, reports, and documentation.
  • Work flexibly across shifts to support operational needs.
  • Promote a professional image to clients and colleagues.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • City & Guilds in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration Building Services maintenance.
  • HV Authorised or HV Authorised Person qualification.
  • Knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition.
  • Experience in critical environments, ideally data centres.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, UPS, generators, HVAC, chillers, and BMS.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
