We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Technician to join our team in a dynamic industrial manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring proven hands-on experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Controls Technician in an industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Proficient in English (Spanish is a plus).
  • High integrity with adherence to company guidelines, business ethics, and safety standards.
  • Strong commitment to working injury-free and maintaining the highest health and safety standards.
  • Proficient in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, analysis, and repair of electrical and control systems, including:
  • Motors, MCC’s, VFD’s, relays, PLCs, overhead crane controls, control valves, controllers, and HMIs.
  • Mechanical aptitude to distinguish between mechanical and electrical issues, with ability to replace mechanical parts as needed.
  • Experience with automated sandblast systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA standards.
  • Medium Voltage (230/480 3-phase VAC) troubleshooting and repair.
  • Electrical License ().
  • Manlift and Forklift certification (required).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, problem analysis, decision-making, and conflict management skills, especially under pressure.

  • Troubleshoot and repair:

    • Automation roll-forming equipment, punch presses, metal straightening equipment.

    • Powder coat paint booths, gas ovens, heated phosphate cleaning systems.

    • Overhead and jib cranes, automated sandblast equipment, welding equipment.

  • Install and repair electrical conduit and wiring circuits in compliance with NEC guidelines.

  • Perform transformer maintenance and testing.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair three-phase motors.

  • Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of screw air compressors.

  • Troubleshoot control feedback systems (encoders, laser measurement devices).

  • Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Configure and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs (AC/DC), and analog circuits (0–10 VDC, 4–20 mA).

  • Troubleshoot and repair gas ovens and controllers.

  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and engineering instructions, and troubleshoot without prints when necessary.

  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives to source replacement parts.

  • Maintain cost consciousness while prioritizing quality repairs.

  • Ensure good housekeeping and safe working practices in all work areas.

  • Execute and document preventive maintenance procedures and identify potential future failures.
