Escape Recruitment are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Stirling to recruit an Electrical Controls & Reliability Engineer. This is a key role within the maintenance and reliability function, focused on improving equipment uptime, reducing downtime, and protecting critical plant assets through robust controls and automation.
The Role
You will play a hands-on role in improving the reliability of electrical and control systems across site. Working closely with Maintenance, Engineering and Production teams, you will use data, fault analysis and controls optimisation to drive long-term improvements in plant performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Improving reliability of PLC, SCADA and automation systems
Investigating recurring faults and leading root cause analysis
Analysing trends and equipment data to prevent failures
Supporting maintenance teams with complex electrical and controls faults
Optimising alarms, interlocks and protection logic
Supporting projects, upgrades and commissioning activities
Maintaining accurate documentation for control systems and networks What We're Looking For
Background in Electrical Engineering, Controls or Automation (HNC/HND or Degree)
Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong PLC and automation experience (Siemens and or Allen Bradley)
Comfortable fault-finding electrical, instrumentation and control systems
Experience carrying out root cause analysis and reliability improvement work
Confident working cross-functionally with Maintenance and Production teamsDesirable:
Experience in continuous process, heavy industry, FMCG, timber, paper, or similar
Exposure to condition monitoring, drives, or asset reliability programmes
Knowledge of functional safety or industrial safety standards Why Apply
