Job Title: Electrical Controls Engineer
Location: Georgetown, KY
Travel: Up to 25% (Variable)
Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team in Georgetown. This role focuses on the design, debugging, and commissioning of custom material handling and machine-to-machine conveyor systems for OEM and Tier 1 automotive manufacturing plants. You will take projects from initial feasibility discussions through to final on-site installation.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design & Programming: Develop electrical control systems and program PLCs (Mitsubishi, Keyence, AB), HMIs (Proface), and Machine Vision systems (Cognex, Omron).
- Robotics Integration: Design and troubleshoot robotic systems, including Kawasaki, Fanuc, and Denso.
- Project Oversight: Direct the fabrication and assembly of electrical components, conduct in-house system trials, and oversee final equipment installation.
- Client Consultation: Partner with customers to determine the feasibility of new equipment designs versus modifying existing systems.
Technical Qualifications
- PLC/HMI Mastery: Proven ability to program and troubleshoot various industrial controllers and interface systems.
- Vision & Robotics: Hands-on experience with machine vision and robotic arm integration.
- Testing & Debugging: Skilled in powering on equipment and managing full system trials before delivery.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar) OR an Associate degree with significant applicable experience.
- Mobility: Ability to travel up to 25% to customer sites.
- Flexibility: A self-motivated approach to managing custom-built engineering projects.
