Title - Electrical Component Engineer - Electronics & PCB

Location - Richmond VA 23231 - 100% onsite role

Contract Duration - 12+ Months Contract (possibility of extension based on performance and client needs)

Role and Responsibilities:

• In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the designs of equipment, systems, or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction, using standard design concepts.
• You will review and implement engineering solutions, manufacturing processes, and test procedures to ensure components are built in accordance with specifications.
• You will also showcase your expertise by contributing to design reviews and design verification.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Managing the complete lifecycle of PCB and electronic components in collaboration with Product Engineers
• Evaluating new PCB parts and ensuring that these are built to specification and quality standards
• Interacting with contract manufacturers and EMS to resolve manufacturing issues
• Participating in PCB layout reviews and suggest quality improvements
• Working on new product introduction (NPI), quality, and change projects
• Analyzing electronic components using advanced tools for obsolescence and risk mitigation
• Collaborating with design engineers on prototype builds and functional, EMI, and reliability testing
• Coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve component and production issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering or related
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing and working with SMD and THD components, PCB layout, and Gerber files.
• Experience in PCBA Testing procedures - Optical (AOI, AXI), Electrical and Functional (ICT, FCT, JTAG), Solderability, Contamination, etc.
• Knowledge of PCB guidelines for component placement and IPC/CE standards, a plus
• Experience with multilayer stack-up boards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, SAP, (PTC Windchill, a plus)
• Experience in CAD/SolidWorks, a plus
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills; must be goals oriented, analytic, and methodical
