The business operates from a modern production facility in Brackmills and focuses on precision assembly, quality control, and continuous improvement within a clean and structured manufacturing environment.Following continued demand for their products, our client is now looking to appoint permanent Electrical Cable Assemblers to join their production team. This is a hands-on, detail-focused role within a small, collaborative team environment where accuracy, efficiency, and quality are essential.The OpportunityThese are practical, workshop-based assembly roles focused on building electrical cables and related components to customer specifications.

You will be working as part of a production team assembling cables, harnesses, and associated components using both manual and automated methods.This is a varied role where no two days are the same, with responsibility spanning assembly, inspection, testing, and supporting wider production and stock control processes. Comprehensive training will be provided across all key areas of the department, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to further develop their skills within electrical manufacturing.The role reports into the Team Leader and Department Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble cables to plugs and sockets using soldering irons and hand crimping methodsOperate automated crimping equipment where requiredAssemble cable harnesses into e-chainsFit additional components such as brackets, troughs, and related partsRead and interpret picking lists, wiring diagrams, pinouts, and assembly instructionsAccurately pick parts and materials for production ordersLabel finished cables for identification and traceabilityCarry out electrical cable inspection and testingComply with quality control (QC) standards and proceduresEnsure correct stock handling and accurate location of materials within the stock systemSupport general production efficiency and housekeeping standardsWork across multiple areas of the department, including testing, machine operation, crimping, and solderingAbout YouPrevious experience in cable assembly, wire harnessing, or a similar electrical manufacturing environmentExperience in soldering and crimping (IPC certification highly desirable but not essential)Strong attention to detail and high levels of manual dexterityAbility to follow technical drawings and written instructions accuratelyReliable, hardworking, and comfortable working in a production environmentStrong team player with a flexible and proactive attitudeAble to work efficiently in a small team with varied workload demandsKeen to learn new skills and undertake ongoing training and developmentWhats on Offer£13.00£13.50 per hour depending on experienceFull-time hours: 08:0017:00 (40 hours per week)Flexible working hours available, including flexi-time options (e.g. 07:4516:45)Overtime paid at time and a half, and overtime opportunities and occasional early-start shifts available30 days holiday per annum including Bank Holidays, plus a mandatory 3.5-day shutdown over Christmas (holiday year runs January to January)Comprehensive training provided across testing, machine operation, crimping, and soldering processesOpportunity to gain IPC training and certification following successful completion of probation and clear career progression opportunities, including Junior, Senior andSupervisor-level pathwaysPPE providedDiscretionary Christmas bonusAnnual commission payment in January based on company sales growth (typically increasing with length of service)Free on-site parking with accessible locationBreakfast and lunch providedEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP)Continuous training and development opportunitiesSubsidised flu jabsCompany social eventsClean, modern, and well-maintained factory environmentFully site-based role within a manufacturing environmentSupportive team culture with long-term career development opportunitiesAdditional InformationEmployees receive a total of 1 hour unpaid break per day (15 minutes morning, 30 minutes lunch, 15 minutes afternoon)Production targets and KPI expectations are introduced gradually as employees gain experience and become familiar with the role and processesIPC certification is not essential for appointment but is highly desirableWhats next?
