Your New Role

As a BIM manager, you will oversee the integration and design of electrical systems in building construction projects. This includes directing technician-level work for electrical systems. The BIM manager will be actively involved in the daily production of Revit and AutoCAD drawings for a range of building and construction projects. Also, with extensive expertise in electrical system designs, the manager will ensure the development and adherence to BIM standards, guaranteeing all models align with company protocols. This role can be based in our office in Minneapolis, MN or Hudson, WI.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Oversee small scale and/or partake as a project team member on a variety of building and construction types.
  • Assist with the preparation of detailed plans and construction documents, bid documents and as built documentation and drawings. Ensure design efforts conform to quality control and quality assurance procedures.
  • Read and interpret complex plans and specifications and provide good judgement to identify alternatives in the resolution of design problems.
  • Manage the production of multiple drawings/projects at the same time. Proficient in plan production and development of preliminary and final design drawings.
  • First point-of-contact to assist with trouble-shooting activities.
  • Electrical practice representative in the company's BIM standards committee.
  • Take part in hiring new employees in BIM technician roles.
  • Recommend new software/hardware needs
  • Create and maintain BIM manuals and templates
  • Conduct routine in-house training (with documentation) for engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Maintain a moderate level of billable utilization, while performing non-billable tasks that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be required to ensure client project delivery and company operations.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • An associate or technical degree in Design/Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline is required. Degrees in Engineering or Architecture are also acceptable.
  • 7+ years' experience working as a mechanical BIM manager and/or technician. Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Revit, and AutoCAD. Microstation experience is a plus. Ability to maintain skill levels within the changing technology environment.
  • Comfortable working in a high-demand, fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail and meeting details as required. Routinely self-checks own work for completeness and accuracy.
  • Organized and able to work on several projects, a multitasker and comfortable working independently and effectively in a team environment to deliver projects.
  • Positive and professional attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients in person or virtually.
  • The applicant is a U.S. citizen or U.S. with a valid Green Card
