The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer .This role is ideal for someone who enjoys seeing projects from concept and design to installation, startup, and customer support.

You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering automation systems while acting as a technical leader and trusted customer partner.

What You’ll Do

Technical Responsibilities

  • Program PLCs, robots, vision systems, and other automated equipment
  • Design, modify, and support electrical control systems
  • Create electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD
  • Fabricate, test, install, and commission control panels
  • Lead or support system installations, startups, and follow-up support
  • Research and quickly understand new or unfamiliar technologies
  • Recommend equipment selections and provide labor estimates
  • Troubleshoot equipment at customer sites as project needs require
  • Participate in and lead safety initiatives and standards
  • Identify opportunities for technical improvements and new solutions

Collaboration & Customer Engagement

  • Work directly with customers to develop and implement automation solutions
  • Promote open communication and idea sharing across the company
  • Maintain strong working relationships with equipment vendors and suppliers
  • Provide technical guidance within areas of expertise
  • Identify additional project opportunities through daily customer interaction
  • Perform other duties as needed to support company and project success

Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 5+ years in the automation industry in progressive engineering roles
  • Proven experience designing automated systems from concept, including:
    • I/O lists
    • Bills of materials
    • Electrical schematics (AutoCAD)
    • Panel layouts (AutoCAD)

Hands-On Skills

  • Control panel design and fabrication
  • PLC programming from concept (“white paper”)
  • HMI / SCADA system development
  • Experience with servo, VFD, and stepper drives
  • Instrumentation, calibration, and analog control loops
  • Robot programming and system integration
  • Startup of new automated systems
  • Retrofit and modernization of existing systems

Education

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
    or equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Requirements

This role may require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, along with standing, walking, bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.
