Thompson First Group is seeking Electrical Assembler for contract-to-hire positions with a local client.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and test electrical and electronic systems, equipment, and components.
- Install and route conduit, wireways, and cable trays in accordance with NEC code, blueprints, and customer specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
- Perform electrical connections, troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs to ensure systems meet required specifications.
- Inspect completed work to verify quality and readiness for testing or final inspection.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and actively participate in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to effectively plan and complete projects.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to less experienced electricians, based on experience level.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality standards and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- Experience in electrical assembly, installation, or industrial/commercial electrical work.
- Basic to advanced knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical drawings.
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing and measuring equipment.
- Understanding of the Electrical Code (NEC) and safe electrical practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and effective communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED , or equivalent experience.
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license required for advanced-level positions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Ability and willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Experience:
- Electrical Assembly: 1 year ()
- Industrial or Commercial Electrical Experience: 1 year ()
- Blueprint Reading: 1 year ()
