Overview

Performs highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical system. Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas of the carshell or train. Work involves technical application of electrical principles.

Functions and responsibilities

• Installs, services and repairs lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets and wiring.
• Must have vast knowledge with electrical component plug assemblies.
• Installs, repairs and services specialized electrical equipment and machinery.
• Reads electrical circuit diagrams and blueprints.
• Transfers primary power from one power source to another.
• Installs conductors, splices cable, builds terminations and does necessary hookup for primary power source.
• May do other trades work incidental to electrical work.
• Capable of process improvement.
• Collaborate with management any issues that may arise with project.

Training and Education Required

• High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Two or more years of related experience.

Safety Requirements

• Report all injuries and illnesses to their supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident.
• Report any unsafe conditions that are identified in their respective work area to the supervisor.
• Comply with all client safety policies, procedures, and requirements that are communicated to them, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures.
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment that is communicated and supplied to them
• Keep their respective work area clean and orderly at all times.
• Attend all required training as soon as possible before the start of their assigned work.
