Overview
Performs highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical system. Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas of the carshell or train. Work involves technical application of electrical principles.
Functions and responsibilities
- Installs, services and repairs lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets and wiring.
- Must have vast knowledge with electrical component plug assemblies.
- Installs, repairs and services specialized electrical equipment and machinery.
- Reads electrical circuit diagrams and blueprints.
- Transfers primary power from one power source to another.
- Installs conductors, splices cable, builds terminations and does necessary hookup for primary power source.
- May do other trades work incidental to electrical work.
- Capable of process improvement.
- Collaborate with management any issues that may arise with project.
Training and Education Required
- High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Two or more years of related experience.
Safety Requirements
- Report all injuries and illnesses to their supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident.
- Report any unsafe conditions that are identified in their respective work area to the supervisor.
- Comply with all client safety policies, procedures, and requirements that are communicated to them, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment that is communicated and supplied to them
- Keep their respective work area clean and orderly at all times.
- Attend all required training as soon as possible before the start of their assigned work.
