No.: CJD(phone number removed)G\n\nLocation: Birmingham\n\nSalary: £26,000 - £36,000\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join my client, a trusted, industry-leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy, renowned for lending their expertise to a range of important projects across the ecological, planning and design, and arboricultural landscapes. They are proactively searching for a driven, experienced Ecologist (Botany), willing to take on a variety of challenging projects alongside an already-established team of professionals, based near the diverse, vibrant city of Birmingham.\n\nBenefits for the role of Ecologist (but are not limited to):\n\nHighly competitive salary (commensurate with experience)\nContributory Pension Scheme\nGenerous annual leave entitlement, raising with length of service (and including your Birthday off)\nTraining, mentoring, and career progression opportunities\nLife Assurance Plan\nPrivate Health/Medical Insurance\nAdditional benefits packages, tailored to suit you \n\nResponsibilities for the role of Ecologist include:\n\nConducting a range of field surveys, managing your time and schedule accordingly\nUndertaking Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA), adhering to the relevant guidelines and procedures\nOverseeing a number of diverse projects, from small scale to more complex\nCoordinating Ecological Surveys, analysing and interpreting data, and using it to inform further aspects of your projects\nApplying your knowledge of Protected Species Mitigation throughout the course of your projects\nEngaging with your team and the wider company, maintaining the highest of standards throughout your work\nEffectively managing your time and resources, across several multifaceted projects \n\nRequired skills and experience for the role of Ecologist include:\n\nA Bachelor's or Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Ecology, Environmental Management, or a similar, relevant discipline\nExperience of consulting surveys and utilising the data to complete reports\nHold a full, valid UK Driving Licence, with a willingness to travel across the UK for work, as and when required\nExcellent working knowledge of ecology, surveying techniques, and relevant legislation and procedures\nGood understanding of Protected Species Surveys, and the development of Mitigation Strategies\nHold at least one Protected Species Licence (or be proactively working toward attaining this)\nDemonstrate a good understanding of botany, including Survey Identification Skills\nHave a good working knowledge of Planning Policy, including the Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), in relation to development projects\n\nDesirable skills and experience for the role of Ecologist include:\n\nDemonstrable prior experience within an ecological consultancy (or Local Authority) setting\nHold several Protected Species Licences \n\nIf you are interested in the role of Ecologist (Botany), please do not hesitate to contact the Ecology Team at Penguin Recruitment.
