Role Title: Project Engineer (for Managed Pressure Drilling)

Location: Indonesia (Office-based; travel to operational sites/rigs as required)

 Role Purpose

  • Plan, coordinate, and support delivery of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) projects by translating customer well objectives into safe, executable MPD engineering and operational plans, ensuring compliance with company HSE, quality, and service delivery requirements.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Project planning & execution governance: Develop MPD deliverables and schedules; manage interfaces with internal stakeholders and customer teams across the project lifecycle.
  • Engineering & well planning interface: Participate in customer well planning; review drilling objectives; define MPD operating envelopes and contingencies aligned with the well plan and operational constraints.
  • Equipment configuration & readiness: Coordinate selection/configuration of the MPD package (e.g., RCD, choke manifold, control system, sensors/monitoring) and mobilization documentation are in place.
  • Risk management & assurance: Lead/participate in hazard identification and risk assessments; ensure barrier philosophy, escalation criteria, and MOC/deviation processes are applied and documented.
  • Operations support (remote / periodic field support): Provide engineering support during operations and coordinate effectively with the field team to implement updates while maintaining service quality and safety.
  • Stakeholder management: Act as a primary technical interface with customers for MPD planning and delivery; coordinate cross-functional alignment with WCE and other service line stakeholders to ensure MPD integration.
  • Performance tracking & reporting: Track key KPIs (HSE, service quality, NPT drivers, reliability); deliver technical reports (pre-job, daily/weekly as required, end-of-well/campaign); capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

 Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in drilling/well construction operations and engineering coordination; MPD exposure min. 4 years (or strong foundation in well control and drilling hydraulics/pressure management).
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and customer stakeholders; strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Willingness to travel to operational sites/rigs in Indonesia/region as required.
