Job Description

A Domestic Electrical Testing Engineer

Contract – 3 - 6 months

8.00am -16.30pm with half an hour for lunch

Swindon

Salary is dependent on experience

We are currently recruiting for A Domestic Electrical Testing Engineer to join our client based in Swindon.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in domestic homes.
  • Perform electrical inspections to ensure compliance with current UK wiring regulations (BS 7671).
  • Carry out remedial works following failed or unsatisfactory EICRs.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and complete corrective actions.
  • Document findings using digital reporting tools (laptops/tablets).
  • Liaise with tenants, housing officers, or property managers to ensure smooth access and communication.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Installation.
  • 2391 (or 2394/2395) Testing & Inspection qualification & ECS card essential.
  • Strong understanding of domestic electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple properties per day.
  • Good communication and digital reporting skills.
