Roles and Responsibilities
The Estimator is responsible for analyzing project specifications and blueprints to provide accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for commercial doors, frames, and hardware. This role involves working closely with sales and project management teams to ensure bids are competitive while meeting the company's profitability goals. The Estimator must maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and product specifications and be able to communicate effectively with clients and vendors. Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this position.

• Receive, review, and analyze project bidding documents and/or customer quote requests as required to become familiar with project scopes, size, location, bid requirements, and proposal deadlines related to offered products.
• Perform detailed quantity take-off of doors, frames, and hardware included in bidding documents and enter quantities into Comsense as needed to establish material pricing and create a cost estimate.
• Issue project-specific material quote requests to suppliers and manufacturing partners to obtain the lowest cost of goods possible.
• Maintain the project-specific “estimating” folder organized and detailed throughout the bidding process.
• Collaborate internally as needed to submit cost proposals to customers as required to meet proposal deadlines, bidding requirements, and customer expectations.
• Conduct pricing revisions, value engineering exercises, “honey do’s,” and pricing breakouts per customers’ requests.
