What you will do

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director / Senior Director to lead high-impact consulting engagements in the energy and utilities sector, with a focus on strategic sourcing, supply chain transformation, energy procurement, and sustainability. This role blends client delivery, solution innovation, and team leadership, while also contributing to business growth. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of energy markets, utility operations, and capital-intensive procurement environments.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Delivery

Act as a trusted advisor to Fortune 500 and public sector clients on energy sourcing, supply chain strategy, and sustainability initiatives.

Lead end-to-end consulting engagements across capital project procurement, logistics, energy sourcing (electricity, natural gas, renewables), and supplier performance.

Deliver measurable business outcomes including cost optimization, risk mitigation, and ESG impact.

Engage C-level stakeholders to define strategy, oversee execution, and drive long-term value.

Strategy, Innovation & Market Expertise

Design tailored sourcing and procurement strategies, including renewable energy sourcing (RECs, PPAs, VPPAs) and risk management.

Leverage insights on regulatory frameworks (FERC, ISO/RTO markets) and global energy trends to guide client decisions.

Develop innovative solutions for complex problems in regulated, capital-intensive environments.

Team & Capability Development

Build, mentor, and lead high-performing, cross-functional consulting teams.

Drive a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture.

Support the development of internal tools, methodologies, and thought leadership.

Business Development

Identify growth opportunities within key energy and utilities accounts.

Shape go-to-market strategies, lead proposal development, and contribute to practice growth.

Build long-term client relationships and expand strategic accounts.

Solution Design & Thought Leadership

Design innovative solutions for supply chain and procurement challenges in regulated and capital-intensive environments.

Contribute to intellectual capital and thought leadership in supply chain transformation, digital procurement, and ESG-driven sourcing.

Lead development of consulting frameworks, tools, and methodologies.

What you should bring

Required Qualifications

12+ years of experience in consulting and/or industry roles within energy procurement, utilities, or capital project supply chains.

Proven track record in leading complex sourcing and procurement transformations.

Deep expertise in electricity, gas, and renewable energy markets, with strong knowledge of regulatory and commercial models.

Skilled in executive stakeholder management, client relationship building, and cross-functional team leadership.

Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to structure complex problems and present solutions clearly.

Qualifications

MBA or advanced degree in Business, Engineering, Energy, or Supply Chain disciplines.

Experience with digital procurement tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle SCM).

Familiarity with ESG and sustainability frameworks within energy or utility sectors.

Prior experience at a top-tier consulting firm is strongly .
