Position Summary
The Director Quality and Process Improvements (QPI) provides professional knowledge and in the administration and support of quality, process improvement, customer onboarding and re-engineering.


Job Responsibilities

Quality, Business Process improvements and Operational Stabilization

  • Develop quality standards. Ensure these standards are deployed and managed by each location and are in compliance with and all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health.
  • Work closely with Directors of Operations and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures and systems and to follow through with implementation.
  • Develop CI programs and Kaizen activities', drive continual quality improvement projects with endeavors to transform the company as a quality centric organization. Independently identifies process gaps and recommends and leads CI Team to implement process improvement.
  • Support local operational stabilization activities as required to support internally or externally identified performance issues. Support Operations as needed in implementing and monitoring Quality programs and Kaizen methodology to drive business process improvement activities
  • Act as a neutral interface between iDC operations and client to drive operational improvements as needed
  • Lead the development and execution of strategy, score carding and key performance indicator action plans. Work with Operational leadership to conduct assessments of critical site and business needs.
    • Develop base case and support root cause analysis
    • Work with local operations to identify and prioritize action items or improvement initiatives
    • Support the implementation of improvement initiatives
    • Monitor improvement initiatives to ensure expected results.
    • Identify and implement cost improvement opportunities
    • Identification of inventory improvement initiatives
    • Assist in identification of IT improvement initiatives to support operations
    • Monitor to ensure area operational compliance with best practices and processes
    • Support start-ups, retrofits and expansions including pricing inputs, go-live and steady state certifications.

Re-engineering Project

  • Prepares studies, reports, analysis and recommendations in areas such as business plans, operating forecasts, competitive analysis, labor reports and financial plans
  • Uses discretionary judgment in determining project scope, time frame, funding limitations/needs, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources at various phases of project
  • Responsible for the timely completion of project objectives and milestones by effectively managing and/or influencing subordinates peers and superiors
  • Establishes frequency and appropriate audience for follow up meetings. Based on project follow up meetings, exercises sound judgment to determine if additional resources are required, if project costs are in line with forecast and if course corrections need to be made to the initial project scope


Implementation leadLead Logistics process for implementation of new client engagements and business expansion with existing customers including the following:

  • Lead logistics implementation of new facilities or new client implementations
  • Lead implementation for expansion of existing facilities or client solutions
  • Lead teams for implementation activities associated with operational improvement initiatives, lead where assigned
  • Ensure implementations align with current defined operational best practices and standard processes
  • Responsible for monitoring budget and timelines related to logistics implementations
  • Define required reporting and KPI’s based on operational best practices and local capabilities
  • Project-driven analytics for conversion of business requirements into IT requirements,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management
  • Bachelor's degree Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • Master's degree Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management
  • Nine (9) years or more in the Distribution, Warehousing and/or Manufacturing, Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics industry required
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint & Visio. expert required
  • Data visualization (PowerBI) intermediate
  • Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S/Workplace Organization advanced required
  • Understanding and experience in core engineering and data analysis functions (slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, metrics, etc.) expert required
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management operations, data analytics, Industrial Engineering, warehouse types (ambient, temp control, warehouse layout/ design and Lean methods. Knowledge of material handling solutions and automation types such as: powered industrial truck (PIT) applications; racking and other storage solution designs, packaging equipment; conveyor and sortation equipment; and other automation solutions (e.g. AS/RS). expert
  • Lean Six Sigma, required
