Seeking a Laboratory Operations Director who shares a commitment to scientific excellence and exceptional service. You'll lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering specialized diagnostics for healthcare providers while also supporting families navigating medical decisions. This unique role requires an individual who combines technical expertise with genuine empathy and strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Quality

• Oversee daily operations across HLA/histocompatibility, molecular diagnostics, immunogenetics, microbiology, and chemistry departments
• Ensure rapid turnaround times and exceptional quality for both professional clients and direct patient services
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements (CAP, CLIA, ASHI, FDA, OSHA)
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and operational strategy development

Team Leadership & Culture

• Hire, train, and develop laboratory staff who embody scientific excellence and compassionate service
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
• Handle performance management and personnel matters with professionalism
• Build teams that serve both healthcare professionals and families with equal dedication

Strategic Direction

• Collaborate with R&D on innovative test development and service expansion
• Partner with Finance on budgeting and resource management
• Support client relations and business development efforts
• Contribute to long-term strategic planning and growth initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences (Master's )
• 10+ years clinical laboratory experience, 5+ years leadership experience
• ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification strongly
• Deep understanding of laboratory safety, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements
