Position Summary
The Director of EHST is a senior leader responsible for setting and executing the strategic vision for EHST programs across multiple service lines, including Rescue, Industrial Hygiene, Medical Services, Safety Services, Fire Protection, and Watch Operations. This role combines strategic planning with operational execution, driving both organic growth and M&A initiatives while ensuring compliance, safety excellence, and service innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the EHST strategic roadmap, supporting growth and service expansion.
Lead M&A initiatives, from identifying targets to supporting integration.
Partner with senior leadership to assess market trends and customer needs, creating differentiated offerings.
Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to track EHST program effectiveness.
Drive continuous improvement in compliance, safety, and operational efficiency.
Build and mentor a high-performing EHST team with strong leadership succession.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, DOT, and related regulatory standards.
Provide subject matter expertise for audits, client engagements, and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with Operations, HR, Legal, and Finance to support growth, risk management, and workforce development.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Business, or related field ().
10+ years of progressive EH&S or operational leadership in multi-site/service organizations.
Experience developing and executing both organic and M&A growth strategies.
Strong knowledge of regulatory standards across EHST-related services.
Proven ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and deliver results.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM) .
Experience
Background in industrial sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemical, utilities, or heavy manufacturing.
Leadership experience with integrated EHST teams providing contract safety services, emergency response, or compliance training.
Familiarity with evaluating and integrating acquisition targets in service-based businesses.
