Position Summary
The Director of
Environmental Commodities
is responsible for analyzing and executing environmental commodities transactions, including RNG, RINs, LCFS credits, RTCs, and RECs. The person in this role will work with our experienced commercial operations team to ensure flawless execution of Amp’s revenue generating processes and report Amp commercial activities to various internal Amp stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Manage RNG, environmental attribute, and physical gas contract and regulatory obligations
Develop and promote business cases for new RNG transactions; manage RNG position to maximize RNG netbacks
Manage Amp’s RIN and LCFS position; make recommendations to Amp’s Hedge Committee; execute trades to accomplish agreed upon hedging objectives
Anticipate and escalate potential commercial risks and opportunities gleaned from information flow within Amp and from counterparty interactions
Manage and quality control commercial operations execution for revenue generating processes
Adapt commercial processes to fit changes in regulations and new markets
Track environmental credit supply and demand to inform hedging recommendations
Manage middle office interaction with trading counterparties
Analyze and report out Amp commercial activity to internal stakeholders
Required Skills / Abilities / Qualifications
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline from a competitive university
5-10 years in RNG, RIN, LCFS, natural gas, power, or other commodity trading environment
Mid-office commodities experience including deep experience with contract terms (NAESB, LEAP, etc) and with managing trade operations
Commodities markets research experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Advanced Excel skills
Aptitude for solving problems
