Job Description
This role will lead the strategy, execution, and culture-building efforts for Environmental Health Safety & Sustainability across a multinational manufacturing network. Working closely with senior leadership, this position sets the direction for risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, environmental sustainability, and global program consistency. This role requires relocation to the Omaha area, with a strong presence at key sites and close collaboration with diverse teams worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage a global strategy for EH&S aligned with corporate goals and sustainability metrics
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to address compliance concerns and ensure risk mitigation plans are executed
- Drive cultural transformation initiatives, empowering teams to identify and solve EH&S challenges at every level
- Spearhead training development and implementation, including safety systems, procedures, and site-specific programming
- Monitor and interpret environmental regulations, overseeing audits, permitting, and corrective action planning
- Oversee deployment of EH&S technology systems and analytics to enable data-driven decision-making
- Support acquisition due diligence and integration from an environmental risk and compliance standpoint
- Provide thought leadership and coaching to global EH&S staff, ensuring consistent practices and professional growth
- Coordinate internal and external reporting, and ensure timely submissions and clear communication
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a safety, engineering, or environmental discipline
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in manufacturing environments, with a focus on safety and environmental leadership
- 5 years managing environmental compliance, a Superfund site and sustainability programs
- Ability to travel both within the U.S. and internationally—estimated at 25–40%
- Demonstrated success in building high-performing EH&S teams and embedding a proactive safety culture
