We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Directional Driller/Locator to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Ensure safety is the top priority by following safe work practices, policies, and processes.This includes identifying potential problems, developing solutions, and enforcing safety rules.
- Equipment operation Safely operate directional drill equipment, including the drill rig, truck, and trailer.This includes performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintaining the equipment.
- Location Locate the drill head and ensure it's in the correct position to avoid hitting underground utilities.This includes reading underground facility plans and drawings, and using a receiver to monitor the drill's location and .
- Planning Plan the bore shot, including potholing utilities, and developing a plan to go above or below obstacles.
- Documentation Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation.
- Labor Perform labor tasks, such as site clean-up, conduit placement, and potholing.
- Communication Communicate with the supervisor daily, and provide training and assistance to coworkers.
- Customer interaction Interact with customers to explain work procedures.
Requirements:
- Must live in the area and/or be able to get yourself to and from work daily
- Must be willing to train in our online, Operator Qualification (OQ) Program, on your own time and by the deadline set, to meet federal regulations to provide underground utilities
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in drilling/locating
- 10 years experience in underground utilities
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL is
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Relevant certifications and licenses are a plus
- There are times when we have to work Saturdays and overtime. This is a requirement of the job
- Must be able to do heavy lifting
- Must pass a drug test and a background check
- Must make a commitment to be at work every day, be dependable, and reliable
